I purchased the Black Cedar Fig scented Funk Butter a while back. I recently started using it again and let me tell you it works. I've used it running around town in the heat to do errands and in the office and it keeps me fresh everywhere. It is not an antiperspirant so I do still sweat under my arms (but, I sweat even when I wear deodorants that have antiperspirants in them). Even when I sweat, once my underarms dry the Funk butter is still in place and there is no odor only the scent of the butter. The packaging recommends using a pea size but, I have to use several peas to keep fresh all day. It's nice to have a deodorant that works and won't ruin your clothes with aluminum etc. I definitely recommend!

Unscented Funk butter and I just had our one year anniversary. I LOVE LOVE LOVE funk butter....It should be called FUN butter because it lets you go out and have more fun without worrying about the stink. I have danced the night away with one application and still smelled sweet. It also doesn't clump in your clothes in the laundry. It can be a little dry, especially in winter, but i usually apply a little body oil to my underarms anyway after the shower, and it mixes nicely with it. It also lasts FOREVER, I bought two tubs a year ago, and still have about a week's worth left. Thank you Oyin!!!

I've tried every so called natural product out there and NONE of them worked. I accidentally found this product and was really surprised to find out it really work and is truly made of simple natural ingredients. Love it!\

I read that some people were unhappy with the response time or shipping time, but if you take the time to read the shipping policy, you'll notice they are up front about the turn around and frankly, I think it's worth the wait considering how it's made and that's another reason the word planning exists. I have made requests and had questions which have always been honored and answered, respectively, and in a timely manner. This is not the McDonald of care products; we all know what places like that have to offer. Be patient and you'll be rewarded... I know I am :)

Love this!! For the longest time I was searching for a natural deodorant and nothing worked for me. I try to use only natural products on my body as much as I can, and was starting to give up hope on finding a natural deodorant... until I tried this! The little 2oz tin lasts for months and months and oh the Black Cedar Fig scent is just a divine warm, cozy fragrance. Please never stop making this! I'm absolutely hooked!

It lasts way longer than my old deodorants and that's because I put a little on after my nightly showers and then a tiny bit more for running around during the day and this stuff just lasts and lasts on into the evening!! I love it!! I also still am not getting any burning/stinging from the butter at all, even the times I had just shaved then forgot and put the product on!!! I love it, and my hubby LOVES the earthy smell!! \

UH-MAZING! Let me start off by saying that I have tried every deodorant/antipersperant under the sun. I'm an AZ native and have always had a bit of an issue with odor come the end of the day. I tried the crystal and ended up with a horrendous, itchy, red, rash under both arms that lasted about 2 weeks after discontinuing the crystal. After the rash went away, I started using the Funk Butter and to my amazement... I have no odor for 24+ hours!!! I ordered all 3 flavors and they smell amazing. The unscented is truly scentless and just as effective as the scented flavors. The application takes a little getting used to and the jar can be a bit tricky to open, but I must say that I am IN LOVE with funk butter!!! Thank you, Oyin, for making a natural product that truly works wonders! You have completely cured my life long insecurity of under arm odor!

I've been using natural deodorants for over 5 years and have tried just about everything on the market, and nothing, I mean NOTHING has worked for me. That is, until I found funk butter. This stuff is AMAZING, it works far beyond any expectation I had. I live in Phx, Az where it is very hot and this stuff works all day long. It is truly a miracale when it comes to natural deodorants. This product is like many I have tried from handmade companys.You can use it for awhile,and then starts the rash and angry red arm pits. The trick I have learned over the years of using products like this,is to first put on a thin layer of lotion or coco butter-then your deodorant.Works evertime on saving your armpits.I gave this only 4 stars just due to the fact I could not smell any of the fig/cedar scent. Other than that it does work great at keeping you from smelling.I love how it goes on and sinks right in-leaving a powder feel behind.I will be back to place more orders for sure!

I tried the mango coco butter. It smells good and a little goes a long way. I was excited to use a natural product. I used the product for about 7 days. Then I woke up one day with the skin under my arms raw and peeling. I stopped using it immediately. About a week later my boyfriend ran out of his usual so I suggested he try the funk butter since it caused a problem for me. I assumed I was sensitive to it. Well he used it for 5 days and he broke out in a rash. So I'm disappointed in the product because both of us had reactions to it that wouldn't have been apparent just by a skin test. The rashes cleared up on their own but it was summertime and I was quite upset that I couldn't shave and had this unsightly rash I had to hide.

Overall I like this product. I have no body odor whatsoever and my underarm skin was very smooth and silky after using a few days. However, I did notice some irritation upon application although it has not developed to anything worse, as mentioned in the other reviews. Two other drawbacks include that I did have a great deal of underarm perspiration (no more than normal probably) and after sweating on my brand new pink blouse, the underarms were left dark purple (as if the sweat never dried). I am hoping that this will come out in the wash but I am very concerned about damaging other clothing items as a result.

I used the unscented FB for about 3 months. No problems or issues - works better than anything EVER. Then the pain started. I felt like a had a giant marble in my arm pit. I did some research and found many other people with similar problems. I stopped using FB for about 3 weeks (that's how long the cyst took to go away). Then, I started using it again, only every 2nd or 3rd day. About a week later, I woke up and couldn't put my arm down. The cyst was the size of a large marble. I went to the doc and they found many cysts and put me on antibiotics. I had to apply heat to the site and rest until it went down. It did within 24hours. I had to stop using FB at that time.\

Occasionally, I have small cysts come back. About the size of a pea. I never had them before FB, but I've had them since. If I try to use FB, within 3-5 days I have a MAJOR cyst in one or both of my armpits.\

If this stuff works for you (my husband now swears by it! And my doctor said it was hormones that cause them to come and go) it's a 5 star +++++! If it gives you cysts, it's a 1 star. ;-( I so wish I could use it. I just LOVE it!

I LOVE THIS STUFF!!!!! I have been suffering since I'd started using deodorant as a teen by constantly sweating, messing up ALL of my cute shirts and putting yellow stains on my white blouses. I didn't realize this was my bodies way of telling me I was allergic to aluminum. This product is ALL-NATURAL and I did not sweat AT ALL, just a tiny bit of moisture from the August heat is all, I couldn't believe it!!! Oyin Funk Butter Makers, if you all stop making this product I will hunt you all DOWN (j/k)!!! LOL And I can't believe the price!!! Totally worth it!! I can't wait to buy more of their stuff!!!! Like the other reviews I can attest to its longevity...I would put it on it the morning and it would last until about 11pm, which can be extended depended on the amount you use. The only reason that I can not give this product 5 stars is because of the application. For me its too messy, I don't see why the belly bar comes in a deodorant applicator but not the funk butter. You can even get mini deodorant applicators, like the travel sizes. Please consider this because this is an amazing product!

I have used so many natural deodorants that do not work!! I finally settled with one that worked if I reaplied it several times a day. this meant that I always carried a stick of deodorant in my purse EVERYWHERE I went! Funk butter is the only deodorant I have found that I can put on in the morning and it does not have to be reaplied during the day!! I am a runner and it works for runs too! My husband works outside all day and it also works for him as well AMAZING product!!! try it!!!

I am rating this product based on its ability to get rid of FUNK!!!! and that is exactly what it did...I am soooooo amazed...i have never come across a product that has worked this well...I have always struggled with underarm odor since I hit puberty..and i would shave and nothing would work...It would always bother me...but since I've used funk butter i have NOT and i repeat have NOT had a problem with smell...I really cant believe it...i told my parents about it also..and they can testify that this thing really works...The only thing bad i would have to say is that the tin is hard to open...but i dont care...lol I dont seal the tin completely..so its not as hard to open next time! I have used A LOT of natural deodorants and they ALL have failed me come the middle of the day! Then All Hail the OYIN Funk Butter! This stuff is awesome and last All day through dancing and workouts and I am a heavy/easy sweater! Only one star from 5 because it is difficult to open at times and I have to use my fingers! I used a crystal for odor protection for years with only one complaint, does nothing for wetness. So I order this funk butter just to give it a try. For a week I used the funk butter with the crystal(paranoid I guess)with a really good result. Tuesday I ran out of the crystal so funk butter solo for 3 days and I am elated! bye wetness, no odor even after a work out! As other users have stated, the packaging is a bit of a challenge to get open in humid shower conditions. Overall however, this product seems to be another Oyin Homerun!

I cant believe how well this stuff works!!! I am a Chef (I RUN at work, and am under a lot of stress!!!) and I live in Central Florida... I am always sweating, (TMI-sorry...) but concerned about the aluminum in deodorants, Ive been unsucessful at finding something that worked until I found Funk Butter!!! The Coco Mango is wonderful, and I have sensitive skin, so I cant say enough good things about this product. Try it, you wont be disappointed! (Packaging does need a little help though..)

I was very surprised but this stuff really work. I was amazed. I put it on in the morning and went out in the summer heat. When I got back home, I still could smell it. But you have to be careful how you rub it on because the baking soda can make your underarms sore. And a litle goes a long way.

I'm a BELIEVER! I was skeptical that this product would work...convinced that no natural product could possibly tame the funky musk that emits from my underarms by the end of the day. But, I figured...for $5...I would give it a try. And I'm SO glad that I did. I used the Funk Butter right before a LONG road trip (MD to ATL...11 hours in HOT temperatures with no AC). I am so grateful for this product! My problem had gotten so intense I didn't want to be around myself. And regular deodorant would only worsen the problem. I am telling everyone I know about the Funk Butter. My one complaint, which is de miniminis, is that the tin can be a bit difficult to open when your hands are wet or a bit moist after getting out of the shower. But the product is perfect.

i ordered one for me and one for a co-worker who was looking for natural deodorant. upon delivery it was nearly impossible to open the tin! i had to use a knife and struggled to open it for almost 20 min. after it finally opened, a BIG GOOPY MESSED plopped onto my pants! had this thing melted? my co-worker experienced the same thing. upon emailing the company, i was told that the batch was not properly mixed and i should receive a replacement shortly. it's been 10 WEEKS and i STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED THE REPLACEMENT! this is my SECOND customer service issue with this company. the customer service is utterly INEXUSABLE!! they NEVER answer their phone or return voice messages and it takes at least 3 WEEKS for someone to return an email.\

OOOOOOOOOOOOYIN! I am so pleased with this purchase I am going to order more ASAP! I have been looking for a natural deodorant for a long time now & this is definitely it hands down. Unlike other natural deodorants, there is no FUNK!!! At the end of my day I still smell CocoMango fabulous. I feel as though I have to address the irritation factor as I have extremely sensitive skin. I think if you apply the Funk Better as directed, with minimal smoothing and not rubbing, you wont have any irritation. Again I have very sensitive skin, and I have had no irritation to speak of as yet. When I applied the funk butter I followed the instructions and spread it slowly in a smoothing motion as not to rub. For me, this works.

I have to admit that after trying Funk Butter I am still on the hunt for a good all natural deodorant. While I like FB a lot it has some downsides for me. I do NOT have sensitive skin and it still causes under arm irritation that lasts a couple of days. I have started to mix a couple of drops of almond oil with it to make it a bit creamier to apply and this actually helps the irritation a little. I have been living in really high humidity areas and it doesn't last all day like it seems to for everyone else. I am moving to California soon, so hopefully the climate change will help. PROS: I love the smell of the black cedar fig and how smooth it makes me under my arms.

I wanted to start using natural deodorants due to the chemicals in store bought ones, not to mention sotre bought deodorant did nothing for my under arm ordar, my undrarms would still smel a bit. So i tried the black cedar fig funk butter. I was so amazed. My underarms were smelling fresh with no ordor, i didnt need to re-apply it throgh out the day,it lasts all day. The only downside is a couple days later i noticed it irritated under my arms. I LOVE this stuff. My other natural deodorants usually leave me kind of smelly by the of the day, but FB keeps me smelling socially acceptable, even after trips to the gym. Though the product is great, I took off one star because the tin is difficult to open.

I LOVE funk butter! I was doing a general websearch which brought me to oyin's website. I decided to give funk butter a try, and I ordered all 3 kinds of the product. I tend to have sensitive skin, but I have not experienced ANY irritation with any of the 3 types of funk butter. Right now I'm currently using the black cedar fig. It's a wonderful scent; and surprsingly very light.I thought it was going to have more of a wintry heavy scent, but it's really perfect for spring! I was concerned if the product would really work as I live in Phoenix AZ, and it gets HOT here! I have not struggled with any body odor since using funk butter. Thank you SO much for making a product that I can use everyday and can trust. Aluminum being absorbed into your skin is bad news, and I'm just SO thrilled with my purchase.

Well I regret to say that I absolutely hated this product, along with all the other products that I ordered. I patiently waited three weeks for my order and was quite disappointed when I received it. The scents were repulsive. I tried so hard to like buy couldn't. I had heard and read so many good things about Oyin Handmade products and just couldn't understand why I couldn't stomach it. I've always been so insecure about my funk - I stink! Bad! I had the hardest time finding ANY deoderant to work for me (store brand let alone natural) - FUNK BUTTER WORKS. Put it this way - I'm now a marathon runner and while I'm a sweaty mess at the end, I DO NOT stink! So not only can this work for everyday life, I guarantee (er to the extent I can) that you won't stink, not even after 4 hours of non-stop running! I've used this exclusively now for over 2 years. Love LOve LOVE this stuff! Have the Black Cedar Fig version, and seriously, I can't keep my nose away from my pits! After a weeks worth of application, My underarms are actually smooth and easier to shave, no more razon burn for me. The texture is really nice, and the funk butter applies smoothly and turns powdery almost as soon as it's on, giving you that silky smooth feeling. I love how long-lasting this stuff is. Even after getting up and going for a run in the morning, the previous day's application is still working. I will no longer use anything but funk butter on my underarms. I've been spoiled.

I am funky! Yes, it's hard to admit that, esp. being a woman and with our reputation for always smelling good. It's not so much I sweat so much, it's just that whatever sweat I do have seems to get trapped in my underarm pores. I've tried EVERY commercial deoderant on the market and I think some of them even made it worse. \

FUNK BUTTER IS THE ONLY THING THAT WORKS! I will use it for two weeks straight and then for a week use a light gentle deoderant and then back to Funk Butter. I think it's the exfoliation factor of funk butter that really helps me, it gets out the trapped funk and makes me smell fresh. I only alternate because I don't want to overexfoliate my underarms. TRY IT! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!

Oh my, I LOVE the Funk Butter! Commercial deodorants have never worked well for me, and other natural ones make me stink faster than no deodorant, but this stuff works! The Black Cedar Fig defies description, but I could sniff it all day. After my tin started to dry out, my skin got slightly irritated, but the tips say to add a bit of oil when it dries out, so I'll try that. I'd much rather work with the nuances of this stuff than continue to use aluminum-based deodorants!

I have been using this product for about a year and a half and have never been disappointed with how great it works. I always purchase 2 at a time so I never run out. This is the only product that works. With that said I do want to say that over the past several months my skin has become raw and very itchy and I use the unscented. What I had to do is apply aloe vera gel, then the FB and that has been working. What I have noticed is that the formula is creamier now which is a good thing because it was drying out too quickly which made it difficult to apply. I still love this product and will continue to buy it.

I love my cocoa mango funkbutter! The only problem is that after about a month it started irritating my armpits.( I think its the baking soda) I couldn't wear it anymore because I'd be itching so bad. The same thing happened when my mother bought hers. Funkbutter works perfectly with keeping me smelling good and dry all day. The only complaint is that it's irritating my skin. I used some 100% natural shea butter and I would rub(a lot of it) that under my arms first and then I'd put on FB, then I'd rub some more shea butter on top of it. It lessoned the itching. But if my under arms got dry again, I'd itch again. That's my only complaint. Other than that it works perfectly.

I found that using commercial deoderants didn't work for me, my body chemistry didn't seem to mix will with any of them and I stunk by the end of the day and it seemed like I always had a gross layer off deoderant on my armpit that wouldn't wash off. I tried going without deoderant and soon discovered that was not going to be a wise option. Amazing the Coconut Mango funk butter works incredibly. I smell good and I don't have to worry about harmful chemicals! I love you Oyin!

I have sensitive skin so I use the unscented variety. This stuff works like a charm, I only wish it was a little creamier. It tends to chunk up a bit as I apply. But it does its job and will remain a staple of mine :-)

Ever since I got pregnant and gave birth to my daughter, I had a problem w/sweating and odor which was a great embarassment to me. I tried every natural deodorant out there and some worked for awhile and then stopped, and some just made my odor worse. I found out about the Funk Butter through a natural products blog and have been hooked ever since. I did start to have a problem w/it being too rough on my skin, so to solve that I just started using the body butter stick in a matching scent under my arms and then I apply my mango FB. To my surprise it not only made for a smoother and less irritating application, but it also strengthened the odor fighting properties!!!\

I decided about two months ago to try natural deodorant because I didn't want the chemicals in commercial deodorant and it would build up, making my underarms dark. The funk butter does the best job yet, out of the three natural deodorants I have tried in terms of odor and wetness protection, but like a lot of other customers said, this stuff makes my skin RAW. I have to stop using anything for a few days so that the skin can heal. I have the unscented kind. :(

I LOVE my funk butter! If I was stranded on a deserted island and could only have one product, hands down I would want my FUNK BUTTER!! I have ALWAYS had problems with odor with perspiration. NO MORE! I have been using this product for over a year and I pray you NEVER stop making it! I started out with the cedar fig and loved the smell, but I am too sensitive for it so I use the unscented now. I am a walking advertisement for this stuff. If I didn't scratch like crazy this would be the best natural deodorant, hands down. I've tried both scented and unscented, but I still itch. :( As I can wear it for a little bit w/o irritation, I still use it, just not for a prolonged period of time. As soon as I feel an itch I just wipe it away with damp cloth. \

I had been using the Coco Mango scented funk butter for over a year now. NEVER had any problems with irritation. Bought my first funk butter in 2006 and had been using it fine for over a year.\

But, now (for the last 3-4 months my underarms get irritated and I don't even RUB it on with force when applying. I do it gently. But, when I put it on my skin just burns like crazy, so I have to go for a few days without using anything so that the skin can heal. \

I don't know if it's because the funk butter has been waiting to be used for a while. I bought 3 funk butters in my last purchase (May 7, 2007) so that I could stock up because I had no idea when I'd be able to buy some again. How long is the shelf life on this anyway? \
I think maybe they've been laying there for too long and now they are too dry...the oils have dried up and the baking soda's strength is now the only thing there? I don't know. \
I still have a can and a half to go. I've been having irritation when I started using my second can. Maybe they've been laying there for too long.\

Love, love, love my funk butter. It's the only natural deoderant that has truly worked for me! I have been using the mango coconut and my husband has been using the cedar fig and we're both wonderfully free of funk. I found that if I apply a little organic extra virgin coconut oil to my arm pits before applying the funk butter, it goes on much smoother. I cannot say enough good things about this product!

Well, I'm not nearly as impressed with the funk butter as other customers seem to be! It crumbles in your hand-rubbing it between your fingers turns it into play-doh-and doesn't rub into your underarm. You end up with globs of this cookie dough-like substance stuck to your skin, so you have to scratch it off with your finger, getting it under your nails. What a mess! The product itself works okay, but no better than anything else I've ever tried. How about making funk butter in a non-crumbling stick form? Maybe then I'd try it again. As it is, I'm going to throw it out and go back to what I used before.

So I put my cedar fig funk butter to the test. I put it on (had to try a different method by means of putting a pea sized on my fingers, mushing a drop of water into it and then putting it on which was soooo much easier!) and went dancing to house music all night long.\

I LOVE this product. I've wanted a natural deodorant for a long time. In the past I've had bad experiences with natural (especially unscented) products smelling horrible. But the funk butter lasts and keeps me feeling fresh all day! Heck, I've gone for two days with no issues! And when the label says that a little goes a long way, it's true! I bought Black Cedar Fig & Unscented on a whim & I have not looked back! I was only using natural deodorant because of health and environmental reasons, but I was not having a lot of luck finding a product that worked as well as I wanted it to. As an aside, I NEVER use unscented deodorant b/c I was too paranoid about my own odor seeping through. Well, I must say that Funk Butter is the most amazing product in the natural deodorant world. It works so amazingly well that I have more confidence than ever when I wave my arms about! Even using the unscented! My armpits still smell like nothing at the end of a long day! I am someone who bikes to work each day & works in an office, so I do get a little sweat in the mix from the bike ride. No need to reapply! I cannot say enough good things about this stuff! The black cedar fig scent is wonderful and it works just as well as the unscented, but it's the unscented one I am truly blown away by! THANK YOU!!

This stuff works just as well as I hoped it would. Application is a bit of a pain (patting it on leaves little solid smears that just roll into balls if I try mixing it in), but the stuff works wonders. I've been using a liquid roll-on from the health food store that did nothing for my pits; I'd barely sweat, and I'd feel damp. But Funk Butter lasted almost two entire days, and even then, the only smell was from a few spots I missed.\

I suggest getting the unscented version and mixing it with scented oils for your own nose. I mix mine with Black Phoenix Alchemy oils for a marvelous floral scent. :D

The Funk Butter is amazing!!! I applied a small amount (a few pea sizes) to my hairy underarms (I only shave when I have to for an outfit) and left it on for a day and one night. The whole day I was fresh. The next morning I worked out for over an hour with my workout tapes and STILL no sweat in my armpits even though I was sweating just about everywhere else! Hairy underarms tend to smell more, too but not with the Funk Butter! I bought the Black Cedar Fig scent and it smells wonderful! It's a warm subtle earthy scent that is slightly sweet, like figs. The fragrance does not overpower so you can use it along with your favorite perfume. I used it between my toes because I noticed they were starting to stink all of the sudden (never noticed this before, but anyway) and immediately the smell ceased and I was back on track with the freshness! Long live Funk Butter!

The first time I bought it, it was dry, so it was a bit difficult to put on. The second time, it was a bit more liquid-y...more moist. And it was easier to put on. But when I reached the bottom it was dry. \

This stuff is INCREDIBLE! I have been using natural deoderants for over ten years, and I have NEVER found one I was completely satisfied with... that is until I received my Funk Butter today. Although somewhat hesitant, I decided to give it the true test by wearing it to my African dance class. We're talking 75 minutes of non-stop, high-energy dancing in a hot, stuffy, crowded room. I had the FUNK and found the butter!!! I have become a Oyin honey junkie! I teach step aerobics twice a week and the classes are pretty intense (we sweat A LOT!) What better way to try out the product then to use it before my class. I was more than pleasantly surprise to see that it passed the test with flying colors. I have the cedar fig scent and I had my hubby take a whiff when I returned from class drench in sweat. Needless to say, he was less than willing but acquiesced and was happily surprised as well. I purchased this product a couple of months ago and really wanted to wait and see before I wrote a review. This stuff works great! Even after I went to the gym and worked out like crazy---NO ODOR! I use the unscented (and still haven't had to reorder) but I have tried the Black Cedar Fig which was too \manly\" for my tastes. The only downside and I hate even mentioning it is that this product did either give me a rash or just discolored my armpits a darker shade. It seems to be fading now and it never itched"

I am amazed at the strength of Funk Butter. I have used mens deodorant for years because womens deodorant did not do the job. This little deodorant kept up with me the entire day. I absolutely LOVE this stuff. I recently decided to try another natural deodorant, but let me tell you, it did NOT hold a candle to the funk butter. I also recently noticed that I no longer get any irritation from the product as I did before. My husband loves it as well. I plan on making funk butter staple for the WHOLE family. Thanks oyin.
