Whipped Shea Butter

Weather Advisory: Whipped shea butter is weather sensitive: in the summer months, melting can occur en route in extremely hot weather, which can result in apparent loss of product as the whipped butter melts and loses its tiny, frothy, whipped air pockets. if you live in a very hot place, or if your package is likely to sit waiting for you outdoors, please consider purchasing in the wintertime instead. ;o)

The incredibly positive properties of unrefined shea are well-documented - it is said to restore skin's natural elasticity, protect from UV rays, help prevent stretch marks, nourish hair and scalp, and have an anti-aging effect. It's also good for smoothing scars, blemishes, and dark marks; helping soothe diaper rash, and revitalizing damaged or overprocessed hair.

But some folks find pure shea a little stiff, sticky, or difficult to apply. Others do not relish the natural, nutty smell of the unrefined nut butter, but don't want purchase refined shea because of the loss of its most effective nutrients in the refining process.

Well, good news! Oyin has taken pure, unrefined, fair-trade shea butter from Togo and whipped it with a number of skin-nutritious oils to aid in its penetration and absorption by the parts of you that need it most. The resulting whipped butter is more than 75% pure unrefined shea butter, enriched with jojoba, black seed, avocado, virgin coconut oils, Vitamin E, and more. It is appropriate for use as a hair pomade, a pre-shampoo hair treatment, a skin butter, a facial moisturizer, or wherever you want the benefits of shea! This is a different product than our Whipped Pudding, which is a cream - a blend of oils & butters mixed with aloe vera gel and spring water. While I have yet to convert my hair to going natural, my skin is fully on board. After my skin began to laugh at lotion like a joke, leaving me ashy again within hours... I called in the experts! I've successfully combated ashyness! I use this when I leave at 6 am, and when I return home at 9 pm... I'm STILL not ashy. It is indeed the TRUTH! :) (and the Rich Almond scent is BOMB)

This is the nicest shea butter I've tried. It has a really smooth, creamy texture that absorbs quickly and doesn't feel like you need to take another shower once you've put it on. And it works really well to keep my dermatitis in check.

I ordered the Whipped SheaButter, Black Cedar Fig Scent. I love the product and used it as my body moisturizer more so than on my hair.I also with a more healthy diet and my eczema, in a cold climate( London), this produt is really good on my skin. Unfortunately, the scent was a bit too much for me. I like the product and need to buy more of it. I will try the Almond Scent and Unscented. Oyin can you please make other batches with different scents, pleaseeeeeeee!!!!

Im a loyal oyin user, but i have to agree with Linda. I recived my 2 jars of what is suppose to be Rich Almond. One smelled like it was unscented, and the other actually smelled like Black Cedar Fig.

I ordered the Almond whipped Shea butter and when I opened it, it smelt really bad. I was expecting for it to smell like \Sweet Almonds\" not like something of burnt rubber. I was a little disappointed by this. But I love all of my other products"

Well I regret to say that I absolutely hated this product, along with all the other products that I ordered. I patiently waited three weeks for my order and was quite disappointed when I received it. The scents were repulsive. I tried so hard to like buy couldn't. I had heard and read so many good things about Oyin Handmade products and just couldn't understand why I couldn't stomach it.

this shea butter is better than any other shea butter on the market because it is mixed with aloe vera gel. i LOVE aloe vera gel. this butter lasts forever. i also use it as a lip balm. it gives my skin and lips a nice sheen.

I am writing this not as a direct review to this product but as an amendment to my previous review. In it I wrote that I cannot use shea butter on my face or body because it makes me break out. I have found that those reactions were a result of a bad diet, and I can put shea butter on from head to toe. I just didn't want anyone to be put off from purchasing this excellent product because of that info. Great product OH, and please keep 'em comin'!

While I cannot use shea butter on my body or face (makes me break out) I do enjoy using it in my hair. I purchased this in the black cedar fig scent and I cannot even describe how good it smells. When I walked by my mother she said that my hair smelled 'professional.' Anyhow, this product leaves my hair so soft and moisturized, especially when I use it with Juices and Berries. I will definitely revisit this product in the future, but I will be sure and purchase the 8oz size.

The product is wonderful! It softened my twists and added loads of shine. It's a great moisturizer and a little does go a long way. My only problem is the horrible smell. I purchased the black cedar fig flavor, and unless you want your hair smelling like old spice I would suggest you purchase the unscented. Based on the reviews I thought the smell would be wonderful and subtle, but it smells as if you poured an entire bottle of cologne on your head and it lasts forever. It's very strong and my husband also does not like the smell.

I just keep passing out the great reviews! I am so impressed with the whipped shea butter. I have used unrefined shea butter before but the smell of it has never been to impressive. I realize the health benefits so use it anyway. I purchased the almond scent whipped shea butter and it smells so wonderful! I have gone shopping to smell scented shea butters but this is the best scented one I have smelled ever! I used it after the Honey Wash and AfterBath, placing it only on my dry spots were Mr. Eczema resides from time to time and my face. It moisturizes the skin so well without the feel of grease (Vaseline and that other stuff). I have found a winner, thanks Oyin!

Yeaaaah so let's talk about the whipped shea. After nearly cutting myself to tear open my goodies, I just *had* to try this. OMG! I put it on two dry pieces (the hurr was in a twistout, courtesy of burnt sugar pomade, whipped pudding, and shine and define, as well as liberal squirts of greg juice throughout the week) so my hair needed a bit of refreshening. Anywho, I used a bit to smooth into the loose hair and then retwisted...and when I took it out hours later WOWIE how soft and shiny it felt!! Let me find out I can use whipped shea in my hurr! ~go oyin, go oyin~\

This stuff is amazing. I thought it would surely cause problems with my acne-prone skin, but it's been just the opposite. Living in the midwest, the falling temps wreak havoc on my skin. Whipped shea butter has brought me balance, softness, and most of all clear skin!

I wasn't sure if I wanted to use this on my skin or my hair so I tried it on both and it was wonderful. This combined with the whipped pudding has a great rich scent. I had it on alone (hair and skin) when I was recently in S.Africa and had a guy stop me and ask what fragrance I was wearing. Wonderful!

I absolutely love this product!! I am transitioning from relaxed to natural hair, and my strands just soak up the Whipped Shea Butter. I've been experimenting with other brands of shea butter, but I love the texture of this one. It practically dissolves in my hands, and leaves my hair super soft. By far the best product for my newly natural hair.

I have beautiful, long, thick and nappy hair. It tends to get dry. When I put this Whiped Shea Butter in at night and either twist or braid my hair, i wake up the next day and my hair is very soft. Since it is hard for me to get my hair to feel as soft as I like, I love this product.

This is yet another amazing product! First as I scooped it onto my fingers I hear the little crackle of the air bubbles escaping...which was wonderful! Then it almost immediately began to melt into my skin! I thought it was going to be too heavy but it is wonderfully light! And for my skin...after bathing/showering I'm used to using lotion 2-3 times a day just to combat my extremely dry skin. I now use the body oil and this yummy whipped shea ONCE A DAY and my skin is ASH FREE all day long! I've just started using it to keep my scalp moisturized while wearing protective styles and I really love the results! Thank you so much!

Well, I love every oyin product that has come past my fingertips but this is has to be my favorite (okay along with the redbrown honey tint sittin' on my lips!).\

First off, I fell in love with the cedar fig scent when I purchased the funk butter. This scent is so dayum sexy and passion inducing and yet earthy and . . .I could go on but I will stop myself.\

Past the scent is the magical mix that makes the shea butter impossible enriched and moisturizing and nourishing and. . .okay, here I go again.\

I made myself purchase some of the Almond (since I still have some cedar fig) but I plan to keep the CF whipped shea on constant rotation. I love the sheen and scent it adds to my little ones' hair. (It's fab on my baby girls toosh too! Even with the scent!)\
